Just Giving Her Time, PG 13

PG-13.....Ok this is one that I have started on another site. Tell me if you want me to keep going or if it is boring and I will stop.

Ok this is my 1st fic.
It has been 3 months since the prom. Addie and Derek are no longer together. Meredith broke up with Finn a fews days after the prom but still did not what anything to do with Derek. She loved him but he had hurt her so much.She did not think she could go though anymore pain so she asked him to give her time and space. He did. It killed him but he knew if he just waited long enough she would come back to him. Izzie has come back to work and still had not idea what to do with the money Denny gave her. Her and Alex were close but she wanted space. George and Callie did not last at all. She wanted a I love you out of George but he still was not ready to say it. Cristina and Burke were good and Burke had no more tremors.

It had been a long day Meredith just wanted to go home and fall into her bed. She walked into the elevator. Of course he had to be on the elevator at the same time.
Derek- Dr Grey.
Meredith Dr Shepherd

Derek just looked at her and her legs went weak. She just could not help but look back into his eyes. Oh how she missed him.

Derek-Meredith how are you?
Mer - I am fine thank you, How are you doing ?
Derek -Ok I guess.
Mer- Thats good
Derek- I miss you. I miss our friendship. Can we please just get pass this.
Mer- I dont know. So much has happened. I don't know if we can ever be friends.
Derek- Can we try. Let's go out to dinner. Please lets just work on being friends.
Mer- If I say yes. It will be me taking my car and meeting you. and no tequila.
Derek -Fair enough I just have missed you. If you would like meet me at the corner of 3rd and Main. You know the place.
Mer- Ya I remember that is your favorite. I will be you there at 6 pm ok.
Derek-Great see you

They both got off the elevator and smiled. Derek could not beleive that he was going to get a chance to have dinner with her. He had given her time and space now he was going to win her love back.

So at 6 pm Derek meet Meredith at the restaurant.
Derek I am glad you made it
Meredith Me to. Thanks for asking to come out to dinner. They walked into the restaurant and the head waiter came over to them.
Dr Shepherd I am glad to see you again. Your table is right this way.
The head waiter took Derek and Meredith over to a table that was out of the way and very private.
Dr Shepherd would you like a nice bottle of our best wine.
Derek looked at Meredith and you could tell that she wanted it but he new that she also had said no tequila so he knew that meant no liquor at all so he just said "not this time thank you".
The waiter handed them the menu and said he would be back in a mintue for the order.
Meredith- Thank you for understanding. I want tonight to be a nice dinner and I know liquor clouds the mind.
Derek. I understand. I really want to start over. We will go as slow as you want. If frinedship is all you want for now that is ok with me.
She smiled at him.
Derek So tell me. How are things going at home. I know Izzie is back at work but how is she really doing.
Just as she was ready to answer the waiter came over to take their order.
Meredith order a steak and baked pototo
Derek order the same.
Meredith told Derek that Izzie was doing better each day. She still cried over Denny but each day it got better and better and she thought her and Alex really had a chance at being a copule.
They sat there and made small talk over dinner.
After dinner the waiter came over and asked if they wanted deresst.
Derek-Meredith would you like to share a piece of cheese cake with me.
Meredith just smiled and said yes.
They had the piece of cheese cake.
After they were done Derek paid for the bill and walked Meredith out to the car.

Meredith- Derek thank you for dinner that was very nice.
Derek-Thank you for meeting me. Now I know you have your car but would you like me to follow you home just so I know you made it ok.
Meredith- No Derek not yet. Ok
Derek Ok will you call me when you get home so I know you made it ok
Meredith- What if I just text you when I get home ok.
Derek- Ok. Talk to you later. See you at work tomorrow.
Meredith- See ya.

Meredith got in her car and Derek got in his car they both had a very big smile on their face when they pulled away

When Meredith got home Izzie was watching T.V.
Meredith walked into the living room with a smile on her face.
Izzie- What has gotten into you
Mer- What?
Izzie I have not seen you smile that big since well I dont know how long.
Did you go out after work and finally have sex?
Mer- No I did not. Cant I just be happy?
Izzie- Meredith I know you to well now what gives.? Where did you go after you got off work?
Mer- Derek asked me out for dinner.
Izzie- You went out with McDreamy. Are you crazy have you forgotten everything he has done to you.
Mer- Izzie calm down. It was just dinner. Nothing eles. We want to see if we can be friends again.
Izzie Friends hummm you and McDreamy.
Mer - Yes now I am going to my room.

When she got to her room she texted Derek to let him know she got home ok and thank him one more time for dinner.

The next morning Derek made it to the hospital before Meredtih. He went to her locker and put a note inside of it.
When Meredith got to work she read the note.
It said.
Meredith I had a really nice time with you last night. Iam glad that we got to talk.
I have missed you so much. Iam trying to give you your space. I will be waiting for you. Take all the time you need. I want to do things right this time. I know that I have hurt you so many times. I want you to know I am done hurting you. That is something I can promise you. If you want to see where this can go let me know. We can play by your rules I am willing to do whatever it takes.
Meredith was the 1st one in the locker room and when she opened her locker the letter fell out.
She read the letter with tears in her eyes. She stuffed the letter into her lab coat and went off to find Bailey as the other were just getting there.

As the other walked out of the locker room Bailey came up to them.

Alex No I am happy to be learning from you today.
Bailey What are you all standing there for. Go now. Go save a life.

Mer found Derek. He was at the nurses station reading some charts.
Mer-Dr Shepherd I am your intern for the day. What do you have for me today.
Der- Lets see Mr Peterson in room 3243 need to be preped for surgey he has a medical medical.
Room 3246 -3248-3451 needs post op notes.

They walked into Mr Peterson room.
Derek- Mr Peterson I am Dr Shepherd and I will be doing your medical medical today. This is Dr Grey she will be preping you for surgey.
Do you have any questions for me?
Mr Peterson. Must be my lucky day the last time I had surgey the person that preped me was not half as beaufitul.
Meredith just blushed and said thank you. You could see Derek get just a bit jealous.
Derek Ok Mr Peterson Dr Grey will be back in a while for you. See you later.
Mr Peterson- Bye Doctor's
Meredith I'll see you after a bit Mr Peterson
They walk out of the room together.
Merdith- Iam going to go do my post ops notes now and then prep Mr Peterson
Derek-Dr Grey would you like to scrub into Mr Peterson surgery?
Meredith I would love to. Thank you Dr Shepherd.
Derek-Great see you in the OR
They walked away from each other and Meredith went to do the rest of her work before surgey.

Its lunch time and Meredith went to find Cristina.She found her outside eating lunch. Meredith got her salad and a drink. She walked over to where Cristina was sitting.
Mer-So how is the Pit?
Cristina- shut up I have been doing stiches all day. My fingers are numb. I need a good surgery.
Mer- I get to scurb in on a medical medical with McDreamy today after lunch.
Cristina- 1st of all you Bitch. I would kill to scurb in any surgery today.
and 2nd you are calling Him Mc Dreamy again? Are you crazy? Hasn't he broke you enough for one lifetime.
Mer I know but we had dinner together last night. And today well his is trying. I dont know. We will see how things go. We are just friends. No sex, No alcohol.
Cristina What you No sex No alcohol? Good luck with that one. I want to see how long that last.
Mer-Shut up We are just friends.
Cristina -Whatever.
Just then Izzie walked up.

Izzie-So I see the smile still has not left your face since last night,I just past McDreamy a few mintues ago and saw the same big smile on his face.
It looks someone is going to get lucky soon.
Mer-Would you both seriously shut up. We are just friends
Chis and Izzie- Ya friends with benefits.
Mer gets up and throws her garbage away. As she walks away she says "whatever I am going now I get to scurb in and you have to go back to your stiches."

Mer is seen scubing in with Derek they are not talking but both smiling at each other.
Der Its nice to see you smiling again. I have missed that.
Mer just smiles at him and asked him if his is ready to do this. They walk in to OR.
Der ok its a beaufitul day to save a life now lets have some fun.

The surgery was long it lasted about 4 1/2 hours and Mr Peterson made it out of surgery. Derek and Meredith were scrubing out.
Mer- That was amazing. I will never get over that feeling of saving a life.
Der Ya its great knowing that you helped saved a life. You did a great job in there today.
Mer-Thank you for asking me to scrub in. It was a long surgery and I am hungry. You want to go get something to eat.
Der -I would love to.
Mer Meet you in the lobbing in 20 mintues.
Mer walks out and Derek just watches her. He can't believe that she is giving him another chance

They met in the lobby and Derek ask Meredith where she would like to go.

Mer- I dont care. Just some place quite.
Der-Would you like Italian.
Mer-That sound wonderful.

Mer walked over to his car and stands at the passenger side and he opens the car door for her. He was surprised that she was willing to go with him in his car. But he was happy.
The drove to the restaurant not saying much just stealing little glaces at each other. Mer put he hand down between them and he took his and and placed it over hers.
By the time they reached the restaurant Meredith had doze off a bit.
Der- Hey we are here.
He wanted to reach over and kiss her but he knew he would just be testing his luck.
Mer I am sorry I did not mean to fall alseep. I guess I am not only hungry but I also tired.
Der We dont have to do this if you dont want.
Mer Are you kidding I am starving.
They head into the restaurant and get a table.
They both order spaghetti and meatballs with a soda.

They made small talk over dinner. Talking about him in med school. She asked about his family. He let her know that his dad passed away while he was still in high school. His 3 older sister were all in collage. His little sister was in Jr high. He thought it hit her the hardest of the all. Leah was the apple of her daddies eyes. He talked how he had to take over as the man of the house. He was the support for his mom and sisters. He said that he was thankful that he had Mark. Mark really stepped up for him and was there for him.

Mer Do you think you can ever forgive Mark.
Der- I dont know. Its nothing I have thought about. For the past 2 years he has made my life hell. How do you forgive your best friend of doing what he did to me.

Dinner was over. Derek drove her back to the hospital. She was getting out of the car when Derek came over and told her to get back in.
She looked kind of pulzzed.
She got back in and closed the door.
He then opened the door for her and helped her out.
Der- This is the way a lady is to be treated.
Mer Thank you I had a nice night.
Der So did I.

God how he just wanted to take her into his arms and kiss her and never let her go.
But he did not want to rush things so he just kissed her on the cheek,

Over the next two weeks.They went out a few times. Nothing more than dinner after work or lunch at the hospital. He promised to keep everthing professional beteewn the two of them. He had not ask Bailey to put them together, but he was happy when she did. Some of the nurses had tried to start rumors that they were back together but most of them seemed to not really care as it was old news.
It was lunch time and Mere and Cristina were having lunch

Cris- So how are things going with McDreamy.
Mer Ok were are doing things right this time. Getting to know each other. He is being really nice to me. Not rushing me and just working on gaining my trust.
Cris- Ya right 2 weeks and no sex. He must be losing his touch.
Mer CRISTINA..... Is that all you ever think about. There is more to a relationship than sex.
Cris-Whatever..I have to go I get to do a medical medical with Burke this afternoon.
As Cristina gets to the stairwell Der is coming out.
Der Dr Yang
Cris- Dr Shepherd
Cris- You hurt her again you answer to me
Der just smiled at her and said "you have nothing to worry about I am done hurting her"
Cris Good just keep it that way..

Derek walked up to where Meredith was still sitting and sat down beside her. They gave each other a smile

Der-Hey
Mer- Hey How is your day?
Der Good and yours
Mer I have been stuck in the pits all day. I want to be in the OR.
Der You sound more and more like Dr Yang everyday.
What time are you off today?
Mer 4 o'clock
Der- I am off at 5 would you like to go and have dinner.
Mer- Ya that would be nice. There are a few things we need to talk about anyways.
Der- We do? Anything wrong?
Mer NO we just need to talk about things. It's time that we had the talk that we never had a chance to have.
Der- Ok meet you in the lobby at 5 20.
Mer Sounds good I am off. I am sure there are more idots down in the pit that have tried to cut there finger off or something stuipd for me to stitch up.
Der Have fun.
Mer See ya

Derek just watched as she walked away. He was worried that she wanted to talk. What if she was not willing to be anything more to him. He just needed her so he could breath. She was his life. His one and only love. If she did not want to be more than friend he would just have to grovel with her. Show her how much she meant to him. Prove to her that he was never going to hurt her again. 5 o'clock could not get there soon enough

Its 5 Meredith is in the lobby waiting for Derk and Addison walks out of the elevator and towards Meredith.

Addi- So I hear you that you and Derek are dating.
Mer We are friends. We are just seeing what can happen.
Addie I just want him to be happy and Meredith you make him happy.
I should have let him go along time ago. I knew last Christmas when he told me that you were not a fling that he fell in in love with you that I had lost him. I should have steped aside them. My pride got in the way. I just want you to know that I am so sorry.
Mer- He told you at Christmas he loved me
Addie- Ya
Mer Addie thanks for telling me
Addie just smiled.
Mer So how are you and Mark
Addie Well Mark is Mark we will see on that one.
Mer- Good luck with him you deserve to be happy also Addison.
Addie- It was nice talking to you.
Addie walked way as Derek as Derk was getting off the elevator.

She walked up to met him and she surprised him with a quick kiss on the lips. He was not excepting it but boy did he was not going to complain.
With a huge smile on his face Derek asked if she was ready to go get something to eat.
Mer Yeah lets go.

As they walked out to his car he asked what Addison and her were talking about.

Mer Not much she told me that she wanted you to be happy. I asked her about Mark.
They reached the car and Derk opened the door for her to get in. They went to a little Mexican food place not far from the hospital.
They order dinner and Mer asked for a beer. Derk smiled and said "make that 2 beers."
They sat there just looking at one another for a few minutes.
Derek was the 1st one speak up.

Der- So you wanted to talk about things.
Meredith took a deep breath. She was about to lay it all out on the line. She knew in order to get it right this time between them it had to be said. She did not know how he was going to react. If she told him would it scare him away. Was he ready for what she was about to say to him.

Mer-Here it goes, what I am about to say is not to hurt you but I need to say it. So please let me ok. Derek just nodded his head.
Derek you hurt me. 1st by not telling me about Addison, then when I begged you to pick me love me and you still pick her over me, then when I was trying to move on you called me names. Derek started to say something but she put her hand up and said "let me finish please" By this time she had tears in her eyes. Fighting back tears she began again.
Then prom happpened. You said things to me. I was so confused. I did not know what to think anymore. You said you loved me but you stayed with Addison. Then you left her. I just needed time to take it in.
You gave me that time. I thank you for it. The last 2 weeks have been nice. I love the fact that we are taking the time to get to know each other . I want to know more about you. I am ready to move on.
But here is the deal. No more lies not even lies by omission. We have to be honest. If ther is anything that is going to come back and bite us in the ass we need to know about it. The good the bad the ugly.
Next it is just us. No dating anyone eles. I need to know if you are in all the way. Derek this is it.I will not , I can not be hurt by you again.
When she stopped Derek was a bit shocked that she let it all out. He knew that it had to hard for her to say what she just said to him. She let all of her thoughts out and just layed them out they for him. She was ready to move on. He could not be happier.

Der-Meredith I want this to work. I am willing to do whatever it takes. I dont want anyone else. I can promsie you that I never hurt you again on propse. I can not promise you that you will never cry over me again. We will fight all couples do, he smiled and "said but making up is so much fun".
But seriously us together we can make it though anything as long as we work at it as a couple and talk it out.
No more lies. My life is a open book anything you want to know I am willing to tell you. Meredith Grey I love you. I am so sorry for the pain that I have caused you. I never want to see that pain in your eyes again.
Mer- So we are us again.
Der Yeah I think so
They leaned into each other and kissed. It last longer than they thought and the waiter came over.
Waiter- hummm do I take it that you are not going to be having dessert tonight.

Meredith told Derek she had to use the restroom and she would be right back.
As Meredith left Derek paid the bill. Then he made a phone call.

man on phone. Yes Dr Shepherd I understand
Derek- Good I will see you in awhile. I want everything perfect.
Man on phone - Ok see you.
Derek was hanging up and Meredith came back to the table.
Meredith. Who was that.
Derek oh no one just a surprise for you.
Mer-You know I hate surprises.
Derek turst me I think you will like this one.
They walked out of the restaurant holding hands. When they reached the car Derek leaned her against the the car and started kissing her. She started running her hands through his hair and he moved his hands around her waist.
He moved from her lips and moved to kiss her neck. She moved her head back so he could find that spot. The spot that he knew so well. When he found it she let a soft moan. She she did her hands moved to grab his butt.
He broke away and said. I think we better take this somewhere eles before we get in trouble.
The got in the car and she asked where they were going.
He just leaned in and kissed her.
Der- Just trust me ok.

They drove through town and soon Meredith knew where Derek was talking her.
Mer-You know this thing you have for ferryboats is really something.
Der- How do you know we are going to the ferryboats?
Mer- I know you Derek, and I have a thing for them also.
He just looked at her and said "Well that is only one part of the surprise. There is more to come."
They got the the dock just in time for the last ferry. They got the car onto the ferry and then got out.
Meredith walked over the the edge and was looking out over the shore as they pulled out. Derek came over and stood behind her. He wrapped his arms around her waist. She folded her arms closed her eyes and leaned back onto him. She felt so safe in his arms. Let nothing could ever hurt her as long as she was with him. He kissed her cheek and nuzzled her neck. He was so happy that she was back in his arms. This time he was never going to let her go.

When they got tired of standing he lead her over to the bench and they sat down. Derek could tell she was cold so he took off his jacket and put it over her shoulders.

Derek- Meredith tell me a story.
Mer- What kind of story?
Derek- One when you were little.
Mer You dont want to know about my childhood.
Derek Yes I do.
Mer My childhood was not the happiest. It was pretty crappy if you ask me.
Der- I want to know.
Meredith closed her eyes. She thought back to the day on the merry-go-round.

Mer-One of my 1st memories is being around 5 years old. I was so happy my mom took me to the park. I loved the merry-go-round. She placed me on it and said she would come back after the ride was over.
As the ride started I was holding my arms up. Like I was going to get to fly away. I keept calling for my mom to look at me. I remember seeing her talking to someone. At the time I could not tell who is was. She was yelling and crying at the man. I could not understand what was going on. Soon the ride stopped. My mom did not come and get me. The man running the ride had to get me off. I could not find my mom. I started to cry. The man came over to me and bent down and asked me were my mommy was. I said I did not know. He took my hand and said let go find her. He took me out of the gate and then I saw her. She was sitting on the beach crying. I looked up at the man and said "thats her over there". He took me to her and then let go of my hand. My mother never looked up. The man just let go of my hand and walked away. I sat down beside my mom and said " mommy whats wrong"? She would not look at me. I said "come on let go home daddy will fix whatever is wrong. He always makes me better when I am sad" She looked at me and said "shut up about your father" She then got up and started to walk away. I ran after her. We got the car and drove home.
When we got home she told me to go to my room and to not come out till she told me to. I did what she told me to do. Then I started to hear my mom and dad yelling at each other. The doors in the house were being slammed open and shut. Then next thing I new was my dad came into my room with a bag in his hand. He came over to me and said "Meredith remember daddy loves you. He always will no matter what. You will always be right here." He pick up my hand and placed it over his hart. He told me that he had to go away for awhile but would be back. I was crying I did not want my daddy to leave. I asked him if he was leaveing who would be there to cook my breakfast and to tuck me in at night. He said my mother would take care of it. That is the last thing he said to me as he walked out the door. I sat there crying for hours. I dont remember anything till the next morning when my mom walked in my room handed me a suitecase and told me to pack anything I wanted to take with me that we were moving.

Derek looked at her she had tears in her eyes. You could tell her hart was aching for her father. All he wanted to do his hold her and never let her go. He hated to see her cry. Derek got up from the bench and knelt down in front of her. He wiped the tears away and said he was sorry.
She told him it was not his fault that her dad was such a jerk. He leaned in to pull her up and she stood up and he hugged her. They did not say much more the rest of the ride. They just stayed in each other arms.

They got off the ferryboat and drove. As they drove Derek could tell that Meredith was thinking about something, She was looking out the windeow day dreaming. He took his hand and placed it on her lap.

Der what are you thinking about?
Mer Just thinking. You know after we moved I never saw my mom much. she would heir a nanny. They nanny would stick around for about 6 or 7 monts. I knew not to get use to them. They were all the same. Got me up in the morning made me breakfast, sent me to school. Once I got home it was to my room for homework. Come down for dinner. Have dinner, help with dishes. Then up to take my bath. Then I could come down and watch Tv for about an hour. Then it was off to bed. All they wanted was a pay check from my mom. Every nanny was the same. Then one day Sarah came into my life. I could tell right away she was different. 1st thing she told me was I had 2 choices. One we could get along and life would be great. Or I could make her life hell and she would do the same to me. She hoped that I would take option one.
She was the 1st nanny that let me me be me. She cared, when I cried at night she came in and held me. She help me realize that my dad leaving was not my fault. As I got older she told me that I could be what ever I wanted to be. She told me to believe in myself. When I told her I wanted to be a surgeon she was so proud. Then I told my mom and I was so hurt when she told me I did not have what it takes to be a surgeon. Sarah just told me that I had ton prove her wrong.
She was my nanny till my mom thought I was to old for someone to watch me. I was 14. What my mom does not know was that Sarah come by two or three times a week to stay with me.
Then she got married. The visits were shorter and fewer apart. She was there when I graduated high school. She was the one that helped my move to the dorm when I went away to collage. She came by for the 1st few months once a weekend about once a month. Then she had a baby. I miss her. I have not seen her since my Jr in in collage.

Der just sat and listened. He could not beleive that she just told him everything. It hurt him that she had it so bad as a child.
Meredith looked out the window. She not not even realize the they were stopped in front of a beautiful hotel. She just looked at derek.

Derek looked at her and saw she had a puzzled looked on her face.

Derek- Meredith its not what you think. I just want to be alone with you tonight, and your place it not well really all that quiet and my place is not all that romantic.

They got out of the car walking hand in hand into the hotel. Derek lot go of her hand and said "You go over and order us a drink I'll go check us in"

Derek check in and walked over to the bar. He came up behind Meredith and put his arms around her waist. She just smiled and leaned back.

Mer- Ummm this is nice. I could get use to this.
Der- You better.
He took the sit next to her. They were finishing thier drinks

Derek- Thank you Meredith
Mer- For what?
Der- For sharing a part of you past with me tonight. I know it was not easy for you to open up like that.
I want you to know from this moment on Meredith you will never be alone again. You will always have me, You have my hart and I love you
Mer Derek I lo.

She just stopped. she looked at him and then looked down. He took her chin and brought her chin up to meet him. They were looking at each other.

Der- Meredith it's ok I know I hurt you. I know its going to take time for you to trust me again. You can say it when you are ready. I am not going anywhere.

He but down a $ 50.00 bill then he took her hand and lead her toward the elevator.
While they were on the eleator he pulled her into him and he started kissing her. When the evelator stopped the got off but never letting go of each other. He fubbled with the key to open the door. He finally got it opened. he picked her up and carried her over to the bed. he layed her on the bed and that is when she saw what he had done.
The room was filled with roses. Candles were everywhere. next to the bed was a bottle of champange and cocolate covered stawberries.

Meredith- Derek this is wonderful. Its so beautiful.
He just keept on kissing her.
Der- Not as beautiful as you. Now come with me.
He led her to the bathroom. The bathtub was filled with lots of bubble. All the candles were lit and smell of lavendar filled the room. He told her to go in and take a nice relaxing bath.

Mer Do (kiss) you (kiss) want (kiss) to (kiss) join me?
Der- More than anything.

They started to undress each other. Hands moving over their bodies. He pulled he into him and moved his hand around her waist. They made it to the tub. They stayed there till the water got cold and then they got out. They dryed each other off and put on bathrobes.

They moved to the balcony that was over looking the city. They drank the champange and was feeding each other stawberries. When they were done with the starwberries he took her by the hand and led her to the bed. He took of her bathrobe. Then laid her down on the bed. He took off his robe and climbed into bed with her. She never took her eyes off him. She could not believe the he was back in her life. He laid down next to her and pulled her next to him. They laid there just cuddling.

Mer- Derek this has been a wonderful night. I am so glad that we are back togehter. I never want the moment to end. I am just sorry that it took me so long to see it. I wasted so much time being angry with you.
Der. Meredith you have nothing to be sorry for. I am the one who made the mistake. I made so many wrong choices. I called you names when I had no right. I will regret that forever.
Mer. Derek I need to tell you something. When I met Finn I was really trying to move on. But everytime Finn kissed me I dont know he just was not you.
Derek tryed to interrupt her
Der- Meredith I you dont owe my any explanation.
Mer- Derek I really want you to know. So please let me finish. Well I know what you thought you saw the night you came by Finn's place but Derek, Finn and I we never did anything more than just kiss. Then even with that I knew that no one was ever going to replace you.

When Meredith woke up the next morning she reached over to wake Derek up but the other side of the bed was cold and empty. She rubbed her eyes and looked at the clock. 10:00am.
She then looked around the room for Derek. She saw sitting on th balcony drinking his coffee. She layed there for a few mintues just watching him. She got up. Put on her robe and walked over to him. She stood behind him and put her hands on his shoulders.

Mer- A penny for your thoughts.
He leaned back closed his eyes and smiled as Meredith started to rub his shoulders.
Der I was just think how happy I am right now.
Mer Why did you let me sleep so late? I can not even remember ever sleeping in this late.
Der- You looked so peaceful. I could not want you up.

Meredith moved around and sat on his lap. He put his hand around her waist.
Der How did you sleep my love.
Mer I loved falling asleep in your arms. I dont think I have slept that good in such a long time.
Der So are you ready for something to eat.
Mer What time do we need to check out.
Der Well we do not have to work today so we have the room for as long as we need it.
Mer Why dont we take a shower and then we can get something to eat.
Der Sounds like a plan to me.

She got off his lap and led him into the bathroom. He helped her off with her robe. Slowly running his hand over her bare back. She took of his robe and ran her hand down his back and the grab his ass and pulled him to her.
He started the shower and they stepped in never taking their eyes off one another. As the hot water was running over them he pushed Meredith to the back of the shower and started kissing her. Her hand moving though his hair and down his back. He moved her so the water was running down her hair and down her back. When her hair was fully wet he reach for the Shampoo and started washing her hair. Then she did the same. After that she got the soap and started washing his body. 1st his chest. Then his arms. He then did the same. As he washed her breast she let out soft moans.
Mer Ummm Derek this feels so good.
Der took the soap and started washing the inside of her thighs.
Mer- Derek I think I have had enough of this shower.
Der- Meredith Did I do something wrong?
Mer- No I just want to get out of the shower and make it over to the bed so you can make love to me.

With that he turned off the water and they stepped out of the shower. They grabbed some towels and quickly moved to the bed.

Mer- ok you really need to stop or we are never going to get out of this bed.
Der- That is the point I am tying to make.
Meredith started to get out of bed. Derek just looked at her and said "stupid maid"
Mer- Derek you are not being very nice she is just trying to do her job.
She pulled away and got out of bed and started to get dress. Derek got up out of bed and walked up behind her and put his hands around her waist. Just as she put on her shirt. He was trying to remove it.

Mer- I have a idea. Why dont we go get something to eat. Take the ferryboat home and finish this back home.
Der- Cant we just finish it now.
Mer- The sooner we make it back to the trailer the more time we will have to finish what we started here.
Derek stopped kissing her and turned her around.

Der- You really think of the trailer as home?
Mer- Yes, As you said last night my place is not all that quiet. If we live in the trailer we can be as loud as we want. And we both know you are not quiet.
Der- Me not quiet. I think it is the other way around dear.
Meredith slapped his arm and told him to shut up and to take her to get something to eat. They were just finished getting dressed when the maid came back on knocked on the door.
Derek walked over and let the maid in and told her to have a nice day.
They left the room hand and hand. When they reached the front desk he told her to go over and order breakfast and he would check out.

After breakfast they took a ferryboat back home. Meredith told derk that she needed to go by her house to grab a few thing before going home.

Der-I love that you are calling the trailer home.
Mer I am so glad that you never gave it up. I was so worried that Addison would make you get rid of it.
Der No I would never do that, but you know I have all this land what do you think of us building a house. We could design it. Make it special anything you want.
Mer Derek you dont need to do that for me. I will just as happy in the trailer.
Der I know but I want to do this for us. We can keep the trialer for guest. Its something to think about.

They arrieved at Meredith house. No one was home. They walked up to her room. She got a suitcase out and started to pack some of her clothes.
Derek came up from behind her and picked her up and tossed her on the bed.

Der You need to talk a break.
Mer I do? What do I need to do on this break.
Der oh a little of this. He started kissing her neck. A little of this. He pulled her hair back and started kissing her neck.
The next thing you know they are throwing off their clothes. They are laying next to each other. Derek rolls on top of her and she lets out soft little moans. He starts to make love to her and her moans gets louder and louder.
What they do not know is that Izzie and George just came home.

Izzie Guess there will be sleep around here for awhile. They have alot of making up to do.
George. Ok that is not something I want to think about.

The screams come out again.
Izzie Maybe with my money I can sound proof there room.

Back upstairs.

Mer- Shut up. Iam just glad we have the house to ourself. Now I need to get dress and finish packing.

Mer- I think you have helped enough. With your kind of help we will never make it out of here.
Der- You say that like it is a bad thing.
Mer- No I just do not know how I am going to tell Izzie and George that I am moving out.
Der- What are you going to do with the house?
Mer- Well I can let Izzie and George stay in it. I dont think I want to sell it. Its the only thing I have left of my mother really.

She was done packing and they started walked down the stairs.
They got to the bottom of the stairs and Meredith said she wanted to go in the kicthen and get something to drink. They walked in and saw Izzie and Geroge standing around the island.

Mer- Oh we did not know anyone was home.
Izzie- Obliviously not.
Der- See I told you. You are the loud one.
Meredtih turned red and started to giggle.
Mer I am really not that loud am I.
Izzie Well I want to sound proof your room so maybe we can sleep at night now that you love birds are back together.
Derek and Meredtih just looked at each other.

Derek and Meredith were just looking at each other. Meredith did not know how to tell them she was moving out.

Izzie-What are you doing with the house Meredith?
Der- Meredith and I have talked about it. You and George can stay here. As long as you keep up with the house you can stay here and not pay rent. Just pay the utility bills.
Izzie- So you to are really back together.
Mer- We are really back together. For good this time. No more secert wifes popping up
With that Meredith grabbed Derek's hand and asked him if he was ready to go.
Izzie came around to give Meredith a hug.
Izzie- I am happy for you Meredith. And you she looked at Derek. Better not hurt her again.
Der- I am done hurting her dont you worry. Thanks for taking care of her when I was not able to.
Then they all walked out of the kitchen together. They saw Meredith suitcase and that when they new it was really happeing.
Mer- I will be back for the rest of the stuff I need in a few weeks. Derek is talking about building a house on his land.

They walked out of the house and got in the car to drive home.

As they were driving home Meredith layed her hand on Derek's leg. She was running her hand up and down his leg but you could see that Derek thoughts were somewhere else. Meredith just looked at him.

Mer- You seem to be awful quiet. Whats wrong.
In almost a whisper.
Der- Nothing.
Mer- Derek don't do this. Don't shut me out. I know something is wrong.
Der- It just...... I don't know. I know they are your friends your family but
I hate that all they think of me is that I am going to hurt you again.
Mer- Derek for the past year they are the ones that have been holding my hair back while I am throwing up all the tequila, bring me asprins in the morning because I have a massive hang-over, They have been the ones to hold me when I have cryed myself to sleep To listen to me when I been crying that Addison had my Mcdreamy my mcdog and my mclife then kicking my ass out of bed to make sure that I got up and get to work. They just care. For the 1st time in my life I had someone that cared. I know I had Sarah but for the most part she was paid to care. Give them time. Prove to them that you are not going to hurt me.
Der- That I can do.
They reached the trailer. He stopped the car but asked her to stay in the car for a minute. He went up to the door unlocked it and opened the door. Then he came back to open Meredith's car door. He picked her up and carried her in the house. She was giggling all the way.He shut the door with his foot. Then layed her down on the bed.

She could not believe he did that to her. She picked up a pillow and threw it at him.

She goes into the bathroom and few seconds later comes out with nothing on.
Mer- Derek you don't have any Shampoo or conditioner in the shower could you please tell me where I can find it.
Derek gets out of bed and walks over to her. He grabs her by the waist and says. "I will tell you but after I tell you, you have to do something for me.
Mer- What is that?
Der- Let me shower with you.
She just shakes her head and says "just get me the shampoo and meet me in the shower you horney boy"
Meredith walks back into the bathroom and Derek walks over to a cupboard grap the shampoo and conditioner.
Meredith is already in taking a shower and Derek steps in with her. She grabs the shampoo out of his hand and starts to pour it on her hair. The room starts to smell of lavendar. She looks at the bottle and then over to him

Mer- Don't tell me you use this.
Der- NO I bought it along time ago. It is the type of shampoo that my girlfriend uses and I was hoping that she would be around here to use it but then I f**ked things up with her and she did not come back. But I did not have the hart to throw it away because I knew in my hart that someday she would be back here where she belonged.

Der- Same here. You know everytime I got on an elevator I was so hoping that somehow I would run into you. When I did I swear that my hart stoped everytime.
Mer- I have missed doing this so much.
She pushed him up against the wall and started kissing him. Running her hands through his hair. His hands started going up her shirt. They did not even notice that the elevator had stopped and the door was open.

Bailey- Excuse me but you do know that this is a hospital. A place that people come to have doctors save their lives.
They pulled away from each other.
Mer- Yes Dr Bailey we know.

Der- Sorry we will try to control ourself..
And they walked out of the elevator.
Bailey. Boy I don't know if I like a dark Dr Grey or a happy Dr Grey.

Bailey-Stupid interns sleeping with attendings. When will they learn.

They now are now knocking on the Chief's door.

Chief- Come in
Meredith looks at Derek and tells him she does not know if she is ready to do this.

Der- Come on it will be fine trust me.

They walked into the Chief office.

Chief- Good Morning.
Der- Chief Dr Grey and I would like to talk to you on a personal matter.
Chief- Well by the look on your face's I almost can guess what it is all about.
Mer- Chief we just wanted you to be the 1st one around here to know that Derek and I are back together. I hope that you can approve.
Chief- Well I want to thank you for coming to me. But Dr Shepherd I will not have you showing any favortism to Dr Grey. I want you to keep your personal life out of this hospital. I will not have any gossip here. Do you understand me.
Der. Yes sir. Thank you for understanding
Chief-Now off the record Derek you know I think of Meredith as my daughter and if you .............
Der- Richard you don't have to say it. I am not going to hurt her.
Richard got out of his chair and came around and hugged Meredith and shook Derek hand. Then told them to get to get out there and save a life.

It had been a long morning Meredith had not seen Derek all day and it was now 11:oo so she knew he would be in surgery with Alex.
She had a few mintues before Bailey was out of surgery so she took a break to watch Derek in the gallery. When she got there she was surprised to see both Burke and Cristain there watching Derek.

It was the end of a very long day. Cristina and Meredith wer in the locker room changing. Meredith was still a little upset with Cristina at the comment that she made earlier durning the day.

Cristina- So how was your day in the pit?
Mer- As good as your was in the uterus parade.
Cris- Hey about earlier.
Mer you dont need to say it.
Cris I just dont want to see you hurt again.
Mer- I know but he really is trying and he is just so tried of everyone treating him like crap.

Over the next few weeks things were going good between Derek and Meredith. Derek had found an architect to build them a house.
They wanted a huge basement with hardwood floors. The main foor would be the lining room family room a kitchen and a dining room. Derek also wanted a small office down stairs.
Upstairs would be the master suite. Meredith would have a walk in closet. The master bath has a walk in shower. They wanted a sunken tub with jets. Derke wanted 4 bedrooms with 2 extra baths. Meredith asked why they needed so many extra rooms. He had hoped to fill it with kids but he just told her that if and when his sister came to visit they would each have their won room. The back yard was going to have a swimming pool and a jacuzzi with a small gues house. Derek claimed that is would be for anyone who wanted to change before and after swimming they could. Also when his mom can for a visist she would have a place of her own to stay.
The architect told Derek that the house should be done within 5 to 6 months. Derek told him that tehre would be a huge bouns if he could get it done at least 2 weeks before Chistmas. It was only 4 1/2 months away but the architect told Derek he would try his best.

It has been a few week since they found the builder to build them a house. Meredtih was working in the pit.
Nurse- In coming 15 year old with sizures.
Meredith walk to the door as the ambulance pulls up.
Paramedic - 15 year old Annie Newll was at the space needle when she started having sizures was stabel when we got to her then had another one on her way here.
Annie's mom pulls in right after.
Mrs Newell- Annie honey its ok mom is here now.
Mer-Mrs Newll can you tell me what happened?
Mrs Newell- Call me Juile please.
Well we are here in seattle on a visit. We live in Maine. Annie has been having headaces lately but I did not think anything thing of it. Today when we were at the space needle she said it was really hurting. She started to cry. It started to take her back to the hotel when she had the sizure.
Please tell me she is going to be ok she is all I have.
Mer-Juile I am going to talk her down for a MRI and then find the head of Neuro for you. We are going to do everything we can.
Mer takes Annie for a MRI
Mer looks at the MRI. She does not like the looks of things but wants to find Derek so he can take a look. She send Annie with Olivia back to her room.
Mer- Can you tell Mrs Newell that I will be back in a moment.
Olivia- Sure thing Dr Grey.
Meredith page Derek. He found her at the nurses station.

Der- How is my beautiful girlfriend doing?
He stood by side her and gave her a kiss on the cheek.
She smiles at him. She really could not believe howhappy they were.
Mer- I am doing good but I need you to look at these.
She held up the MRI for Derek to look at (ok I dont know anything medical stuff and I dont know if you can look at a MRI this way or not so please just go with it)
Der- Wow this does not look good. Who is this?
Mer My 15 year ol pateint visiting for Main. could you please come talk to her mom for me.
Der- Lets go
They walk into Annie's room
Derek takes one look at Juile and his eyes widen.

Der- JULIE JULIE NORTON!!!!!!!!!

Meredith is off to the side holding Annie chart and just rolled her eyes.

Meredith is taken back by his answer but tries to stay calm.

Derek just looks back at Meredith. He can tell he just blew it. He walks over to her takes the chart out of her hands. He says he sorry to her and takes her hand.

Just then Annie starts to wake up.

Mean while Julie is helping Annie in the restroom

After a few moments Julie and Annie come back.

Der- ok Julie before I know what is wrong with Annie I need just a few more test. I am going to have Dr Grey take her so she can run the test.
Annie looks at Derek and ask " I am going to be all ok right Dr Shepherd?
Der- You are in the best of care. Dr Grey and I are going to do whatever it takes to make things ok. Now you just don't worry.
Meredith takes Annie down to do the tests that Derek wanted. She did not like leaving Julie and Derek alone in the room together but she had a job to do.

Meredith was pushing Annie down the hall.
Annie- This is weird.
Mer- Excuse me.
Annie- Well the whole you and Dr Shepherd beign my Doctor's. I mean who would have ever thought that if those 2 would met again it would be because of me.

Annie- Ya my mom and aunt always talks to me about things like that. You know my mom say she wants me to be open with her, so she has always been open with me. Since my dad died last year the only real time she smiles is when she talks about Derek. You know she has always calls him "the one that got away"
Mer- Wow I guess she did tell you that they dated back in High Shcool.
Annie- Well I would not just call it just dating. I can really see why my mom lost her virginity to him.
Meredith was a bit shocked. That a mother would tell her 15 year old daughter things like that.
Annie-Oh I am sorry. I did not mean to upset you. I know that Dr Shepherd is your boyfriend and I am sure that you did not want to ever really meet the women who he lost his virginty to.

Meredith just looked at Annie. This was way to much information she needed about Julie.
Mer- Ok Annie we just need run a few test and then we can find the best way to fix it. Now I need you to lay really still while we do this ok.
Annie- ok

The test are ran and Meredith takes Annie back to her room.

Mer- Ok Julie, Annie I am going to find Dr Sherpherd and give him the result of the test and he will be back to tell you the next step.
Julie- Thank you Dr Grey.
Meredith walks out of the room. She thinks to herself that this is going to be a very long day.

Meredith finds Derek. She shows him the results.

Der- Crap just what I thought. A turmor. We need to get it out now. Will you go book a OR and I will go talk to them.
Mer- Sure thing Dr Shepherd.
Der-Meredith I said I was sorry.

Der- You are going to scrub in with me right.
Mer- Are you sure you want me in the room with you?

Derek goes to talk to Julie and Annie. Meredith books the Or room and goes and grabs something to eat before the surgery.

We now see Derek and Meredtih washing hands before Annie surgery.

Der- Are you ready for this?
Mer- As ready as I can be.
Der- I am really sorry about what I said back in her room. I really did not mean it they way it came out. I just meant that I was free of Addie.
Mer- Can we just forget it and get this over with?

They finish washing hands and walk into the OR

Der- Ok its a great day to save a life lets have some fun.
